A Touch of Red - Holiday Exhibition and Sale

The Studio Art Gallery proudly presents “A Touch of Red”.
A contemporary art exhibition featuring works by local artists. In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, the theme of this exhibition and sale is based on the colour red and the artists visual exploration of this dynamic colour.

Red can represent many meanings for many people. Through the years, artists have used striking red hues in their artworks to depict a mood or to send a strong message. Traditional celebrations have connections and popular imagery associated with the colour red. Red has a range of symbolic meanings and significance through many different cultures including life, health, remembrance, war, courage, anger, love and religion. Red also provokes the strongest emotions of any color and is associated with passion and love as well as anger and power. Red represents the lifeblood and connection between all people, and carries significance for many Indigenous cultures. According to lore, red is the only colour spirits can see.

The only submission requirement for the exhibition was that there must be intentional shades and tones of red incorporated into the Artists’ piece.

This Holiday Exhibition and Sale will run from November 14 – December 21, 2024

Artwork in the exhibit that has been purchased can be picked up after December 14th.

Please join us for an Exhibition Celebration: Thursday, November 21th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. This is the also the evening of the Kick-off for Dresden’s Christmas Town Celebrations.
