Chatham-Kent, Ontario – The Chatham-Kent Arts & Culture Network (CKACN) is pleased to announce the third annual CK Artist Studio Tour. The event, which invites the community to get an intimate look at arts practitioners creative processes and experience their creative spaces. The Tour returns to its spring slot, running Saturday, May 31 & Sunday, June 1.
This year, the CK Artist Studio Tour features 16 locations with 11 artists displaying their works individually and five gallery locations. Tour times are 10:00 am-4:00 pm on Saturday and 12:00-4:00 pm on Sunday. Some artists will open up their studios, while others will be set up in group locations. The gallery spaces will feature artists on-site, demonstrating their work.
Vicki McFarland, a local artist who serves as co-chair of the organizing committee says, “The depth of talent and vibrancy of Chatham-Kent’s creative community is one of our region’s best kept secrets. We are fortunate to have so many individuals working so many disciplines and mediums.”.
CKACN Board Chair Laurie Langford agrees; adding “Two of this arts council’s mandates are to encourage community interaction with arts and culture in all its forms, and to nurture C’K’s creative community. This signature event creates a unique environment where people can get face-to-face with the creatives who enliven our region.”.
