Emancipation Day at the Josiah Henson Museum

Celebrate Emancipation Day with us as we commemorate the abolition of slavery in the British Empire and recognize the ongoing legacy of Black history and achievement. Enjoy a FREE day of live entertainment, thought-provoking speakers, cultural experiences and family-friendly activities.

Ongoing throughout the day: Craft beer sampling by Sons of Kent, Dresden’s Black Military Legacy exhibit, Dr. Nikki Clarke book signing (Black Canadian History Coloring Book), Swanky Dawg and Truckin’ Mama’s food trucks, and exploring and engaging with the museum.

Lunch will be available for purchase. Seating is available or bring your own lawn chair
